The Bike Shop

This summer my family got a bicycle shop called Crystal City Cyclery. It has been mu dads dream for years to own a bike shop. We have had the shop since May and it is still going strong. My dad is a teacher at Hillsboro so he cant work there full time. That is why we have a partner in this with us. We  have become close friends when before I had never met him. This weekend the bike shop is having a bike race at West City park. We are calling these multiple bike races the Cold Hearted Crits. It is a series of the two races over the month of February  I am going to help wit the one this Saturday but I have  to get up early.

Bottled Memories

If I could bottle up any memory from my past I would choose the time my family took a vacation to Michigan. Michigan is the most beautiful state there is. I could send my whole life there. A couple summers ago my family took a trip to Michigan. For one week we rented a house with lots of my extended family. We  had a house right next to he beach and we went there everyday. Then for a week after that my parents and I camped all around Michigan. We went to the UP, we went to Mackinac Island and many other places. These were the best memories of my life.

FRIDAY :)

Tomorrow is Friday and my church is having a lock-in! I am  very excited because we are going laser tagging! I stink at laser tag but I still think it is very fun. We will leave church at 9 tomorrow night to go laser tagging and get back at about 12 to 1. There is no scheduled time for sleep, so I will probably be cranky the next day. Our parents come to pick us up at 6 in the morning! I wouldn't be surprised if my parent didn't wake up and come to get me om time. We are also having karaoke which I think will be hilarious because we have some very funny people at my church. I'm very sure I will have a lot of fun with my friends this weekend.

Veteran's Day

I think that it is important that we have school on Veteran's Day. It is a very important day and I think that kids need to know what war veterans have done. Many of these Veterans are parents, Grandparents, aunts, uncle, ect. I think it is very important that we honor what they have done for our country. They have risked their lives for their country, and that is a very honorable thing. Many people do not want to come to school on this day but it is more important to make veterans realize how important they are than to just sit at home and do nothing all day.

The Python Challenge

The Python Challenge has recently started. About 800 men come to participate in this hunt. It is held in southern Florida. Not many Pythons have been found. The Pythons are quite hard to find. Many men wander around for 12 hours a day and find nothing. So far they have captured about 11 Pythons. It is believed that there are about 1,000 to be found in Florida. Some of the men become bored, but continue the hunt for the rush and/or for the money. The person who catches the longest Python receives $1,000 and the person who catches the most Pythons receives $1,000. These men may be crazy, but if it's what they love to do, then go right ahead. Here's the article:
A Burmese python is coiled around the arm of hunter Michael Cole during a news conference Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 in the Florida Everglades where the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission announced a special season for hunters to capture and remove reptiles of concern from state-managed lands around the Everglades.

The Bet

My friends and I have made a bet. The bet is that we can't eat chocolate or drink soda until Easter. The first one to break the bet has to do something, but we haven't figured out what yet. I know what you're thinking, we're crazy right? Well we are doing this for Track. I don't have a very hard time not drinking soda but I love chocolate so this is going to be hard. We have been successful so far, but I'm not sure if I can make it the whole time. I think I will though if I just remember. I have almost eaten chocolate a couple times because I keep forgetting! I better not actually eat the chocolate next time I forget!

Mrs. DeBolt

Festus, MO 63028

Dear Mrs. DeBolt:

My name is Taylor and I love running! I have been a runner for about three years now. My dad works at Hillsboro Jr. High and he used to coach track and cross country. He started coaching me when I was in sixth grade and I have loved it ever since. When I was little I used to go to all the cross country team parties. I became very close with all of them even though they where way older than me. For My eighth or ninth birthday they made me a huge birthday card and they all signed it. It was very cool that they did that for me.

I also enjoy singing a lot. I am in Concert Choir and East Central Choir with Mr. Z. I often run around my house singing. When I was little I was always in plays at my church. I was not a shy little girl and I often had solos. I have realized that as I have gotten older I have become more shy. When I was going into sixth grade, I was the lead role in my church's Christmas play. It was very nerve racking and exciting at the same time.

I have some experience with computers. I had Technology in seventh grade. I learned a lot from that. My family has a laptop that I sometimes use. I am an only child so I sometimes think that I'm a little spoiled. Each person in my family owns a Kindle Fire. I bought mine myself and my parents each got theirs for Christmas. I also have an iPod touch that I bought for myself. I use it VERY often. Over all I have a little technology experience, but not as advanced as some people. Thank you for your time with this letter.

                                                                                                              Sincerely,
                                                                                                                  Taylor Cruzado

The Letter

Today I received a letter from a former classmate. He is in jail and he asked me to get him some things. I don't know what to do! I was really good friends with this person but I know it would be breaking the law to get him what he needs. This is a hard decision. I am slowly coming  to the conclusion that I should tell the jail what he asked me and let them deal with it from now on. I know this will most likely upset my friend but it is the right thing to do. I think it is horrible that he is in jail, but I know that it is what he deserves. I feel bad for him because in middle school he seemed like he could have a wonderful future, but he blew it. I think that him being in jail for a while will set his mind right and let him get back on track.

Running

I am very excited for track this year. I love running! some people think its crazy that I like to run bit I couldn't live without it. Its all because of my dad. He used to be the Hillsboro Jr. high cross country coach. Ever since I was in 5th grade he has gotten me to run and I love him for it. Track and cross country are very fun and you always make new friends and become a family with the team. I love it very much. I love cross country more though because you become closer with the cross country team that the track team. I guess this is because there are tons more people on the track team.
